Executive Artistic Director

Chris Mayse

Chris Mayse has worked as a theatre professional for three decades now; having earned his Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts from Southern Utah University, as well as his Master of Fine Arts from the Professional Actors Training Program (PATP) at Ohio University. Chris has performed with many of the nations leading regional theatres; including the Milwaukee Rep, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Tacoma Actors Guild, Montana Rep, Nevada Repertory Theatre, Door Shakespeare, and others.

 

He has directed critically-acclaimed productions of SWEENEY TODD, ANNA KARENINA, EDMOND, NO EXIT, and TROJAN WOMEN 2.0, in both Seattle and Las Vegas.

 

Chris has designed, taught and served in administration for various companies including Atlas Theatre; which he founded and ran in both Seattle and Las Vegas (winning "Best of" Theatre Company from the Las Vegas Weekly). He served as Managing Artistic Director of Seattle Musical Theatre (Seattle's oldest-existing musical theatre company). Most recently, Chris performed with a variety of companies in both Boise, ID (Boise Contemporary Theatre, Alley Rep, Homegrown Theatre, Playhouse Boise), as well as in his hometown of Las Vegas, NV; where he rejoined the cast of TONY N' TINA'S WEDDING at Bally's Hotel and Casino. He also had the opportunity to direct readings of new works and appear in both print and commercial advertisements via NXNW Productions in Boise.

Managing Director

Meg Mayse

Meg Mayse (Bero) is the Executive Director and Dance Program Director at Studio 170. Meg founded Studio 170 to provide the community with artistic education opportunities and create inspired, well rounded and technically trained performers.

 She has been a dance educator for nineteen years. Meg graduated from UWSP with a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in arts management and dance. She trained at the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point in modern, tap, jazz, ballet, and composition with Joan Karlen, Michael Estanich, Jeannie Hill, and Pamela Luedtke.

She has been on faculty with Dance Education Center in Stevens Point, WI, under the direction of Tori Rogoski, Trollwood Performing Arts School, Fargo, ND, and Youth Company Chicago, Chicago, IL, under the direction of Jerry Foust.

She has created and implemented dance curriculum for students ages three to adult. She choreographs for show choirs, dance teams, musicals, special events and color guards.
